Hi starbearer,

I’d be glad to assist you regarding the same, Are you talking about the Key 1 from the below picture.

If that is the same key then, please install the latest BIOS on the computer by clicking on the link below.

http://dell.to/1dFtXxL
Type in the Service tag, under Drivers and downloads select the operating system and install the BIOS on the computer.

And also install all the Windows updates on your computer, once completed please restart the computer and check if the settings button works fine.

Let us know if this helps.

Yes, it is the same button, 1st on the left, which does not work.

And no, flashing the BIOS did not help. I already had the latest version, and Dell gave a warning that it did not recommend flashing to the same version again, I flashed anyway, and still no change. The button does not work. The other 2 work just fine.

The button worked just fine before the move to 8.1.

Even now the button works fine, that is, it lights up when pressed, just that nothing happens after that. But it's fine from a hardware  perspective.

Hi starbearer,

Thank you for the update, as the physical button works fine which means the hardware is working fine and to rule out the issue with the software we can try restoring the computer to factory settings. Just to make sure the settings button work fine, please backup the data on the computer and try performing the Factory restore for your computer, Click on the link below to initiate the Factory reset.

NOTE: Factory image will erase the data completely from your computer, please back up the data before you perform Factory reset

In order to back up the media on a USB flash drive please click on the below You tube link which has a video explanation of the same

After you’ve backup the data on the USB flash drive please click on the below You tube link which has a video of Restoring data from Recovery media

Perform these steps and let us know your findings.

I have no desire to do a factory reset. It worked just fine before the Migration to 8.1. I can't imagine why I'd be required to do a reset to get this working again.

I'd appreciate it you could suggest some other solution, or maybe check the driver again, and correct this. A reset is not an option for me, not while everything else is working perfectly fine.

Hello there, sadly I have the same problem as starbearer.

The first ( quickset ) button doesn't work after update to Win 8.1 ...

I already tried to upgrade BIOS  and Dell Quickset App as well - no result.

so I'm wondering if there's already some fix for this prob, from Dell or we have to wait?

Sadly, even the latest A16 BIOS, available fr the 7720SE, does not manage to solve this issue.

The only "solution" proposed so far has been a full reset to factory specifications, which I find odd.

I hope they come out with a solution to this pretty fast.

Full reset and new BIOS don't work, though :(
