Dell Studio 1558 Upgrades
I have a Dell Studio 1558 and I want to upgrade my PC, so that I can make my laptop even more fast and fluid. My laptop is running Windows 8 Pro (actually, it is not recommended by Dell but it made my PC fast). Mainly, I want to upgrade my memory, CPU, and my motherboard. So please, any help is highly appreciated!
My Current PC specs:-
1) CPU- Intel 1st Gen i5 CPU M540 @ 2.53GHz
2)RAM- x2 2GB RAM

The Solid State Drive will speed up your system alot:

The speed of your unit is 3 GB/s so the m4 which runs at 6 GB/s is a waste of money.
Motherboard, that will cost more to upgrade than buying an entire new laptop and likely won't fit in the case.
Can upgrade your CPU but it will likely mean you have to dismantle almost your entire laptop, see the Service Manual for deassembly:

Anyway personally I recommend not changing the CPU but maxing out the RAM and installing a solid state drive.

upgrades that are worth it. higher capacity drive 7200 RPM drive (you can go SSD but 500GB will set you back about $400)
8GB is max supported ram for that machine CPU according to Intel
backlit keyboard
Intel Centrino 6235 dual band Wirelss N and BT 4.0
Slot loading BD-Rom drive (thse are not cheap)
