Dell Studio 1735 keyboard problems

Hello,

I bought a Dell Studio 1735 laptop last week. Today, all of a sudden my keyboard started acting weird. First the media control buttons above my keyboard stopped working. Now a bunch of keys from my keyboard only work when you press them really hard. Others work fine. They keys that do not work properly are seemingly positioned randomly over the keyboard. (incl 'y', 'n',... but also some digits from the numpad). My mouse pad is not working anymore either. The power button might be affected as well.

I tried entering the drivers and utilities cd but Im not really sure which drivers on the pc to reinstall... There do not seem to be specific keyboard drivers on the cd?

Is this a driver problem? Or a hardware problem? Any ideas?
