Dell Vostro Wireless Switch

I just got a Dell Vostro 1200 but I cannot connect as it tells me that there are no wireless networks available. It keeps telling me to turn on my wireless switch. There is no switch at the side or front of the laptop and Fn + F2 just brings up a little screen telling me that my wireless switch is turned off. I also went to look for the Intel Wireless Adapter and saw that it was already enabled. How can I connect?

hmm, can you explain how you expect to connect wirelessly if there are no wireless networks available?

Windows will report no wireless networks available whether the card is enabled or not. Just because it says none are available doesn't mean none are in the area, it simply means windows cannot see them because the wireless card is not sending data.

Verify the wireless light is on, then right click on the wireless icon by your start menu and select "enable radio"

There are two ways to disable the wireless:
- with FN + wireless key
- the dell wireless utility menu to select enable/disable radio

I have a similar issue.  It states to turn on the wireless flip the switch on the front or side on computer only there is none.   I tried the f2 button, but it does nothing.
