Dell XPS 15z Fan Stopped working. Error Code 2000-0511 Validation 9216 (HELP!!?)
I got a laptop Dell XPS 15z August of 2012, and it's running really well, until I noticed today that the fan has stopped and my laptop has been heating up and turning off immediately during online games or even if I'm playing music with iTunes. It stopped turning on since the night of June 1st.
I pressed F12 while booting up my laptop and ran the diagnostics on my laptop and came out with this Error.
Error Code: 2000-0511
Validation: 9216
Please help, i do not have my warranty anymore.. actually i think it ended that night (coincidence?)

Me too facing same issue, got an error code 2000-0511 with a Validation 21926.
Please suggest.

NOTE: Ensure that the battery is more than 30% charged and the adapter is connected during the BIOS update process.

Okay Mr. Manshu S,
It started to act up again, I did update the BIOS, it works sometimes... but most of the time it's off. Yesterday night I turned on and off my laptop, pressed F12 each time, and check the fan, and of those 10 times all of them worked. Well this morning it stopped and then another shut down was made and it worked. Then while playing WoW, it stopped mid way and heated up and then shut down. HELP?! again....

Hi dabid123,
If the issue persists after BIOS update, fan needs replacement. If the system is in warranty, please send the Service Tag and name listed on the account in a private message.

Hello Manshu,
Thanks for all your help. According to diagnostics my processor fan is not working. Your advised that to update the BIOS, which version, A12 or A06? My computer is an Inspiron N5110.

Same problem, brand new Inspiron 7568, error 0511. I update bios, make all but nothing.

Hi,
can you please help me? I have a Dell Inspiron N5040 and it crashes all the time. Have run the test and error code 2000-0511 pops up. Do I have to upgrade the bios? Can you please send me a link? And then tell me which Bios? Or do I need to do something else? Thanks!
