Dell XPS M2010 Processor and Upgrape Options
Hello Everyone I am new here and I need a little help in the right direction.
I have just purchased a Dell XPS M2010 20.1" Its an MXP061
currently running a core 2 t7400 2.16 also with and ATI mobility radeon x1800
What I would like to know is can I upgrade the cpu to a quad core or higher? Maybe
a 64 bit? and also that would allow the ram to be bumped to 16GB ,also
wanted to upgrade to dual SSD in raid and also the graphics?
Any thoughts or suggestions? I need this type of machine as we
are moving to an island and I can't take much with me (otherwise it
would be my desktop). So this is best cross over option for me.
I would appreciate any advice or thoughts? Thanks in advance

The only upgrade you have is T7600, which is so small an increase that it's not worth the cost or effort. No, there are no quad core options for this system.
There is no video upgrade option.
The existing CPU is EM64T-supportive.
Max RAM is 2x2 or 4G.

Your best performance upgrade option is to swap out the disk for an SDD. I replaced mine with the Samsung 840 (MZ-7TD250KW).
The performance boost has been amazing, boots in less then 30 seconds, and everything else is super responsive. Supposedly the software that came with the SDD had the capability to mirror the drives so you would then just swap in the new drive and everything would be in place. I couldn't get that to work on my system.
I've been using PCs since the late 70s when they came in a kit and had 4K memory. The M2010 is by far the best machine I've owned. I went through a rash of warranty repair on it - bad motherboard, bad video card, etc. But it's been stable for a while. Hope it holds together for another year.
