Dell e4300 battery slice not charging - help!
Hello all. I just reinstalled Windows 7 (to freshen things up) and bought the battery slice for the e4300.
It's not charging at all.
In the system tray, it comes up as "Battery #2: 0% available (plugged in, not charging)"
Searched everywhere to no avail.
Is there a BIOS update or specific driver I need?
Frustrating since I've had the battery for 2 weeks now, completely new, and completely useless.
Thanks for the help guys!

I know your problem maybe.
It was a power fault simulation with your small mini blade server. (follow I thought) You have a docking station and your laptop has two power feeds. One was disabled with a power fault so it works in the dock. You must find a way to reset that power fault like I do with my "Vanessa" which is not a Dell but it uses an alternate battery. Or find a way to recharge it third party like. Like an external battery recharger. That would be the easiest solution.

Hi 2020mori,
• Try removing the primary battery and charge only the secondary battery.
• Try loading BIOS defaults
• Also set the “Express charge “option in BIOS to “Standard” and check if it makes a difference.

Hi Harish,
Thanks for the post, but it's still not working after applying all you suggested.
The led is cycling fast-blinking orange then back to blue.
The primary battery has been removed.
Any other suggestions?
I'm carrying around this battery slice for no reason now -- lugging it around is a constant reminder that it's not working .. lol.
Thanks for the help guys.

Hi 2020mori,
• Alternately blinking amber light and blue light — An unauthenticated or unsupported, non-Dell AC adapter is attached to your laptop.
• Alternately blinking amber light with steady blue light — Temporary battery failure with AC adapter present.
Try with a known good AC adapter and check if it works. If it doesn’t then it could be a faulty battery.

My ac adapter is an OEM dell, the larger one that is used with the docking station, so no issues with the adapter. I'm beginning to realize that maybe the battery is defective, unless someone can suggest something else. I've already contacted the seller for a refund since this is really should be plug-n-play. Thanks for the help.
