Disabling Java

How should I disable Java on my Dell Inspiron M5040 running Windows 7?

Hi Jonathan48861,

Java is required for many system functions like running games, opening web pages etc. Uninstalling Java might cause issues with these applications. Let know the issue due to which you want to remove Java from the system. For more information, you can visit this link http://bit.ly/f6A3oL 

If you want to disable it, then you need to uninstall Java from the computer by going to Control Panel. If you want to disable it from your browser, then you need to disable the add-ons for the browser. Please refer to the link http://bit.ly/TNdkpk

Hi Jonathan48861,

If you want, you can disable Java using the steps mentioned in my previous post. I would also suggest you run the anti-virus scan regularly and keep it updated.

Thank you Appu, I'm just concerned over the news about Java and dont want an infection.

Hi Jonathan48861,

I appreciate your patience. I understand you were concerned about various news on Java. An updated version of Java has been released which fixes these security exploit(s). I would recommend you to uninstall the order version of Java from the computer. Here are the steps:

  • Click on Start ->Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features
  • From the list look for 'Java'
  • Right click and choose ‘Uninstall’, follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the 
  • Restart the computer

Now, install the updated version of Java from the link http://bit.ly/5AvWW5 , click on 'Agree and Start Free Download', follow the on-screen instructions.
