Got the same problem with poor graphics in Internet Explorer. I tried the suggested reg entry solution and this resulted in a better quality of the graphics. However, by using this solution most webpages become so small that you can hardly read them. Can anyone help me?

I too just purchased a D800 with the SXGA and am experiencing cloudy graphics using Internet Explorer. It seems to be just the GIF's that are affected. I would appreciate any help!!
all my Problems described above are solved now (changing DPI on 1 Notebook and changing RegistryKey as described above solved the problems). The Graphics look good now!
I am glad you had the same problem with Explorer because Dell claims we are the first. We have just purchased in Jan 2004 8 Dell Latitude D600's and have the bad graphics problem in Explorer. I have talked to Dell but after many attempts at trying to resolve the issue (ie. reinstalling the graphics driver, putting a new mother board in) they claim it is what it is and are stumped. MSN Explorer is just fine and Internet Explorer 6 is not. How do you change the registry for explorer as suggested by Microsoft?
I made this registry fix when I got my D800 last March and have been enjoying the most amazing monitor on a laptop ever since. The post by KratelT below, or earlier, depending on how you sort your threads, shows exactly how to edit the registry. No worries-Nike.
It seems most of you have resolved the issue on this by making the registery change for UseHR : 0, an
d then making the dpi:144.
I am trying to do the same but what happens is that msn/yahoo or other graphics oriented sites and applications become very small and hard to read.
I am keeping the resolution to 1920x1200, should I be changing this too, and to what resolution? I have tried some but things become blur for any other resolution.

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
If your problem is with the graphics look of IE, the best thing to try is adjusting the systems’ DPI settings.

Hi everybody,
I have had the same problem with my D800 (resolution 1920x1200). Changing the DPI was not really succesfull...
I found following statement in the MS knowledge base that describes problems with high resolution monitors:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;820286&Product=winxp
They propose to add the following reg entry:
> > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
> > UseHR= dword:00000001
This entry was still active at my laptop -> I changed the dword from 1 -> 0 -> now the graphics are shown in a propper way :)
Cheers

Could use a bit more help...
I am familiar with the procedure to adjust the DPI, but can someone explain how to access the Registrykey so that I can try the solution given above.
Thanks Again!
