Do I have a webcam?

I have a Latitude D830 and I wonder if I have a webcam. There is something that looks like it, but I can't find it in the hardware list and Skype doesn't find anything. Just want to be sure...

Have a look at the photo, there is a small square below the screen that could be a camera.

Thank you for your answer.

How do you know and what is the square?

Your system does not have a webcam.

It's  cover for something - the webcam is not offered on the business-model Latitudes.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that this is a "cover for something" I'm in the imaging business and I've seen enough camera phone CMOS sensors to know when I'm looking at a a camera lens, or some other type of photo sensitive hardware. It may be true that Dell's business series does not offer support for whatever hardware is there, but it's certainly some sort of photo-sensitive hardware, and a web cam would be the most likely culprit.  If it's not a camera, what is it? If it's a cover for something, as you indicated, what's it a cover for?

Could it be an IR port or a remote control receiver or something like that?

It is the ambient light sensor.
