Does adjusting the angle of Dell Studio 1555's monitor affect it's ability to turn on?

I have a Dell Studio laptop that doesn't start when we turned it on, though the battery is still good.

It's power switch is at the bottom right side of the monitor.

When I turn it on, the hardware sounds are heard then the light on the power switch will just blink but nothing appears on the screen.

I try to turn it on again and again but same response

When it so happened that when I turn it on at different monitor angles, sometimes the power light will only blink, or hardware sounds are only heard or both.

So I tried to switch the laptop on while forcing it slightly and parallel to the switch, the response of the laptop improves but still it doesn't completely turn on

So my question is, does the adjusting of the monitor's angle affect the Dell Studio 1555's starting up capability? If that so, what should I do to fix it and to avoid it later?

And based on my case above, what do you think is the  cause why it doesn't start?

Thanks!
