Geforce4 440 Go 64MB Graphics Card Upgrade-Please help!
Hello Dell Community,
I need help in switching out and upgrading to a Geforce4 440 Go 64mb video card that fits
in ethier the Inspiron 8100 or 8200 or the Latitude Line c800 c810 and c840
I personally have the C810 and can't seem to get any help over at the latitude forum so i am posting here
Here is what I know so far:
I have seen a tutorial from bay wolf about switching out the geforce2 card to this newer card
and I now know how to make it work in the c810 I have
However What I don't know is What Drivers and Where for this card?
Do I get drivers made for the inspiron 8100/8200 and then use them on the c810?
Or Do I download them straight from Nvidia and If so what to do then?
Or as I am wondering do I need a Bios Update to the c810 to handle this card in addition to a driver update for the card itself?
Anyways I ask someone to please kindly point me in the right direction
:manhappy:
Thank You Very Much

That Geforce 4 you listed is really a Geforce 2-it's only marginally more powerful than what you have, and won't run anything a Geforce 2 can't run.

For the 64MB as opposed to only 32MB on the GF-2 perhaps?

If so, same deal applies-this is better, but if this upgrade is for games, it's really a waste of money. If it's not, then I'd have to ask what the point is. Either way I just can't see this being anything but a waste of money. Now if you could get a REAL Geforce 4 for it, then maybe (though even a real Geforce 4 will just barly run a lot of things-a few not at all).
