I'm not sure what changed, but the problem seems to have resolved now!
I tried restarting the PC yesterday to no effect. I also ran the Dell Diagnostics using PC Doctor from the Dell Support site. It did not find any issues. I turned in for the night.
I run Avira Free Antivirus. I also updated that last night. The wireless problem was there before and after the update.
Today morning, when I started my PC up, it performed some configuration of the system as it started up, I guess an update Win 7 had downloaded, and now the Wifi works perfectly. It did get disconnected in between, but it's back now.
Weird..
Here's the system information anyway.. just to check if we could locate a source of the cause?

Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
I have a doubt though. What's the use of this power management setting and how is it related to the PC being unable to connect to the internet via Wifi?
Windows is shutting down the wireless adapter to save power, so you get disconnected. Once you restart the computer, then connection comes back. Unchecking the power management boxes allows the connection not to be lost.

sknth,
Sounds like you need to do these tweaks...
Start, control panel, device manager.
Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.
--------------------------------------
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

Hi Rick.
Thanks for replying.
I have a doubt though. What's the use of this power management setting and how is it related to the PC being unable to connect to the internet via Wifi?

Sreekanth,
Windows is shutting down the wireless adapter to save power, so you get disconnected. Once you restart the computer, then connection comes back. Unchecking the power management boxes allows the connection not to be lost.
