Could you suggest me a Graphics Card. I want to take Inspiron 1420. The specs would be 3 GB Ram, 250 GB hard disk, 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I use softwares like PRO/E and CATIA.

1) Could you please suggest a graphics card for the applications I use.

2) Should the configuration of the laptop be considered in Selecting the graphics card.

3) Some of my folks suggest me to go for a 256 MB Dedicated Graphics Card. What are the graphic card that provide this kind of dedicated memory. Could you please tell me the prices also.

Thanks,

Theja

The best card for the 1420 is the 8400m gs 128mb.

There is NO 256mb card for the 1420.

There are no cards at all for these models - the video chips are integrated onto the mainboard.

What you want to run is best done on a high-end notebook - not a small, lightweight machine like these.
