HELP !!

I do not know if I am doing this right so if not I am sorry.. however I need help with an issue and have been able to find no help so this is rather my last resort...

I have an Inspiron 510m I love it and I just got a new hard drive ( the drive is of course IDE) but.. I need new updated Dell drivers for the bios so that it will take the drive as it is over the 80gig and at the time I was told it would be fine by the sales person now my old hard drive is dead and I am stuck with a laptop that doesnt work and with no help from anyone Dell tech support wouldnt even take an email.. I need the laptop for work.... can anyone help me ??? please...

What does the BIOs setup (hold F2 when you boot) say about the hard drive. Is it detected?

What problems are you having? What happens when you try to boot from the Windows XP disc?

What BIOs are you on (says at the Dell splash screen) the latest is A11.
