I have a Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop, the laptop was not booting to win8 for a few days.
Tried all the steps i could to get the laptop to boot into windows but to no avail.
At last when i tried the system diagnostics from the BIOS the hard drive threw up the error
**Hard Drive 0- DST Short Test**
Test Results : Fail
Error Code : 2000-0142
Msg: Hard drive 0 - S/N woV1J5NW. Long self Test unsuccessful.
my laptop is still under warranty.
Any help would be appreciated.

Error code: 2000-0142 indicates that the hard drive has encountered failure and it has to be replaced. I’d be glad to assist you in getting part replaced.
