Help regarding buying an imported laptop
Guys,i'm new in this....and i want to buy a laptop and really don't have any idea about warranty .....:emotion-9:
So, i want to ask..that i am thinking to buy a seal packed dell 5421 i7 with 8gb ram(4gb default and 4gb he says he will install),750gb hdd and 2gb graphic card from a local distributor who says that he has imported that laptop from Thailand and comes with an international warranty which also work in INDIA.And when i asked a dell employee he told me that dell 5421 i7 version is not sold in INDIA so no warrenty will be given with this laptop from dell.
is it true>>???
please help me with this i really want to buy this i7 laptop and tell me is it safe for me to buy this,and will i get warranty in INDIA??? :emotion-9:

Not if the system isn't sold in India, no. Whatever warranty and support you get would come from the seller, NOT from Dell, so be sure that seller is reputable. What you're buying is a "grey market" system - your guarantee is as good as your reseller, since you will not get support from Dell for it.

Hi vtechno,
To qualify for international warranty support, the system must be purchased with onsite warranty. However, the Complete Care warranty may not be transferred. I checked Dell India website. i7 version for Inspiron 5421 was not available. Hence, you may not get support on this system through India Technical Support.
