How do I disable Annoying Caps lock icon.........

Jeezuz! Really!?!? Things a year old! Dell Inspirion N7110, Windows 7. Fifth Dell machine I've bought, might be the last, and Dell gets it back after I pull it from the bottom of the pool.

Minimizes ALL windows to show me I bumped the button with (No

Sherlock.......I suppose I'm just not smart enough to see the super bright little LED IN THE FRIGGIN BUTTON!).........and no option to stop it, at ALL!.........Didn't do this before I had it worked on a couple months ago when it was under warranty....now it's not and Dell wants $90 to log onto the machine to stop it, then hung up on me all three times I called then asked for a supervisor. NOPE! Sorry....has to be an easy fix.

I did the registry entry changes outlined in other threads, one said change value to 1, the other to 3od4o....... no workie

I stopped the Quickset.exe in task manager, then deleted the program......no workie

Next answer is going to be to physically remove the stoopid button! (With a sledghammer if necessary, and THEN go buy an HP or something Who uses caps lock anyway, and why is it so big?

I want the REAL answer, not some cooked up hack ideas that I have already tried. If a tech can do it from Pakistan, I can do it from my desk, for FREE!

Really, Dell, FIX THIS! This is like having your car shut off at highway speeds because you accidentally bumped the 4 way hazard flashers!

Instead of making the Caps Lock key completely useless I'd rather try to simply remap the key so that it can be used for something else and - should it work - you could easily get the Caps Lock key original functionality back without having to edit the registry and rebooting the system.

Note: 10 out of 10 Dell user are not interested in Autohotkey - that's my experience so far on this forum.Don't know why I still recommend this brilliant tool.....
