How do I enable CPU virtualization on an Inspiron 3521 laptop.
The chip is the Intel Core i3-3217U. When I try to start a VirtualBox virtual machine with an Oracle appliance, I get the following error "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU." When I research the cause of this error message the sites that I have visited all suggest that it is because the CPU virtualization is not set. When I go into the Set Up mode, I see that Virtualization is enabled. Does anyone know if there is a second CPU setting for virtualization that I am missing, or some other explanation for the error message that I am seeing?
Any help would be appreciated.
