How do I reformat my Inspiron 6000 (XP) and reinstall XP?
Can you tell me how I reformat my Inspiron 6000 (XP) and reinstall XP? I have the reinstallation CD for XP Pro Service Pack 3 and also a drivers and utilities cd to be used in connection with the reinstall. Thanks in advance.

Most likely you will be fine with PC Restore, but it might be a good idea to ask over at the "Virus and Spyware" Forum. Try to include Virus type (Name)

Thank you. Is it worth trying PC restore if the computer has a virus? Or will the virus travel over even after I have returned the computer to factory status?

A restore wipes the hard drive completely first - before restoring everything, so there's no chance of the virus still being on it :emotion-5:

Success! I am very impressed by the PC Restore function in our Inspiron 6000. It was easy, fast and effective.
