The I1501 has integrated Video Graphics which uses system RAM for Video.

If you take the binary total for 2 GB (2048 MB) and subtract what is displayed (1918 MB) you get 130 MB

2048 - 1918 = 130

Integrated Graphics uses 2 MB for system overhead reducing 130 MB to 128 MB

130 - 2 = 128

128 MB is the amount of RAM dedicated for the video card.

Your system is working as designed with the amount of ram you paid Dell to install.

Hi DaGeezerUS
Thanks
I know that but i do not know if Liam knows but good post thou !
The scanner at crucial is saying we have only 1.5 gig of ram
1 x 1 gig and 1 x 512 mb stick when we have 2 x 1 gig sticks.
The other is not the problem.

I agree the Crucial interogator appears to be a bit wonky, but they can't all be jewels right?  :smileyvery-happy:
