How to Restore System to Factory Settings when F8 Fails.

Ok I have looked into this quite a bit and yet I still get nothing. My Dell Inspiron 1525 has become very slow and I would like to just do a full system restore to set back to factory settings. I checked on the dell site and followed the instructions as to restart the computer and before the windows load screen comes up I press F8, I then get the advanced boot settings where I press enter on 'Repair my Computer'. After that I get no other options my computer just starts up normal like I've done nothing. If anyone knows what I can do to restore my computer to factory settings even though this F8 function isn't working a reply would be great. Thank you.

You have a hardware problem you need to solve first - before you can reload anything.

Remove the battery, unplug the system and hold the power button for 30 seconds.  Try powering up again - if the system won't, remove and reinstall both memory modules.  If that doesn't solve the problem, you have most likely a faulty system board.
