How to activate point stick?
I have an I8600 that only had a glide-pad. My keyboard broke so Dell sent me a new one, and I noticed it has a pointer-stick in the middle of the keyboard. However, after installing this new keyboard I cannot use the pointer stick-- only the glide pad works?
I updated my driver to the latest Alps Pointing Device (Glidepoint/Stickpoint) software, but i still only have the touchpad working. Going into mouse properties only shows the touch pad working??
Is it possible to use both the glide pad and point stick with the I8600? Do you need a special driver?

Under control panel / mouse, I have the Alps properties, but there are only settings pertaining to the touchpad, nothing about the pointerstick
Under the Hardware tab, I only see "Alps Touch Pad" listed?? no pointerstick

Strange. I did not see the device option tab in mouse properties so i reinstalled the Alps driver you provided the link too. I still do not have any options for the pointerstick and it does not work?
I wonder if the Dell 8600 cannot handle dual input (glidepad and pointerstick)? My original keyboard did not have a pointerstick, the one i am using now is a replacement, but i would like to use the stick since it is there.
