To my knowledge there is no way in the BIOS to disable hyper threading. I have not read of many problems where having hyper threading slowed down Firefox with Core I7 processors. I would make sure if you haven't already, upgrade Firefox to latest version and for that matter test other browsers. Hyper threading may not always increase performance on an application, but it shouldn't slow it down either. On top of that turbo boost should actually speed up applications that only use one core.
I have ispiron n7110 (i7). I found out that my solidworks program use only 15% of my cpu (at best) instead of 25% because of the hyperthreading feather. please, please, please !!!!! tell my how to turn it off.
