How to downgrade driver?

I just updated my video driver, from the one that came defualt on my Del resource disk to "Video: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, Windows XP, English, Inspiron 9200, v.8.16M.077.034, A01" now when I open some programs mainly games I get errors that my card or driver does not support a number of functions. I was wondering if it is possible for me to downgrade my driver, or will I need to re-install windows and my drivers?

This is on an Inspiron XPS.

Cinervip,

Go to Device Manager (Start|Control Panel|System|Hardware tab). Click the plus sign to the left of Display Adapters to show the name of the ATI card. Right-click it and select Properties. On the Driver tab check the entry to uninstall the driver. Reboot and you can reinstall the original driver when the ATI is detected by Windows.

Click on your display adapter in Device Manager and select "Rollback driver" to restore it to the previous one.
