I have an older (about 6yrs old) inspiron that came with a Ni-MH 9.6v 4500mAh Battery. I just started to look for a replacement battery and all I can find that say they fit that model are 14.6v Li-Ion batteries. Is my laptop so old that they no longer produce or sell the older Ni-MH batteries? I fly RC airplanes and know that you cannot charge a Li-ion battery as a Ni-MH or you will surely get a fire!

I see them being sold on eBay, both 3rd party ones and those marked with Dell logo.
