The problems with the touch screen can sometimes be resolved by, disabling the touch screen from the Device Manager, then reboot, and re-enabling it. Or if you don't use it that much anyway you could just leave it disabled.

Thanks Robert. I actually want to use the touchscreen feature. That is the reason I purchased this model.
