Inspiron 1521 won't boot install disk from CD/USB
I have an Inspiron 1521 that was running very slowly so I decided to wipe the drive and start over. Tried to boot from the install DVD and it hangs up after the loading files process. The DVD drive stops turning and the CPU just stops working and I get a blank screen. I ran the diagnostics and the report was that everything is working perfectly.
I flashed the BIOS and still get the same situation. The laptop battery was dead and I just bought a new one and it's full charged. When I hit f2 to get into the CMOS setup all I get is a screen full of green hearts. When I was able to boot with windows I put the install DVD in and the drive reads it fine and brings up the install dialog box.
Now I can't get the original windows installation to boot and can't get anything to boot from the DVD/CD drive or the USB port. I tried to use G-Parted to wipe the drive but it hangs as well. I created an install disk on the USB and it won't boot from that either. Might not have done that right, but bottom line is I'm stuck. Anyone with a suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
