Inspiron 15R (5520, Mid 2012) Windows 10
Dear Sir,
I have installed Windows10 to my laptop without checked the available of drivers before.
So now, I just found out like you can see below,
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell has not confirmed that this product can upgrade to Windows 10. Some drivers, firmware, applications, and connected devices may not work as you would expect.
In my case, where can I obtain those drivers which is feasible to my laptop model (Inspiron 15R (5520, Mid 2012))?
Please kindly advise me...
Best Regards,
Mc

This does not work!!!!! I am disturbed and disappointed by Dells lack of concern or interest with this. I have purchased Dell products for years but no more you have managed to loose me as a customer and any recommendation.

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5520 from Windows 8.1 Home 64 bit to Windows 10 Home 64 bit.
I've only encountered two issues. I lost sound immediately after upgrading.
I followed the Microsoft Troubleshooting Instructions for sound problems, which ultimately led me to installing the generic High Definition Audio Device driver to replace the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver (version 8.54.29.0, dated 17/Jan/2012). The sound quality was not that great after.
I was able to talk to a Microsoft Tech Answer chat lady, who told me that Microsoft doesn't have a more recent driver for the device, and pointed me to the Conexant website. No joy with the Conexant website - if you've been there you know why. However, she also pointed me to the Dell Support site to install the Windows 7 driver for the Dell Inspiron 5520. I wasn't comfortable with that. I selected the Windows 8.1, 64 bit driver and found there was a more recent version, Conexant SmartAudio HD driver (version 8.54.40.0, dated 8/Jul/2012), than I previously had. I downloaded and installed that, and it worked perfectly.
The other problem is that Dell Stage reports at boot that it requires Windows 7 to work. I don't have a solution for that one as yet. Maybe there is a newer version available for download or a replacement product.
No other problems to report. Everything else seems to be working just as fine as on Windows 8.1.

PS: Just a suggestion. You may want to try rolling back from the upgrade if you have the option to do so. Then I would recommend that you make sure you apply the latest driver and software updates, including BIOS updates at whatever your prior Windows version was. Then you might want to redo the upgrade after.

Right click dell stage, and related programs, click troubleshoot compatibility in the shortcut menu, choose Troubleshoot program, check the 1st box, choose Windows 7, click test program. It will run, then save those settings. Will work like a charm
