Inspiron 1750 issues

Hi

I have a problem with my laptop.

The power light by the headphone port flashes white then four orange.

I did a diagnostic and there was an error scanning the hard drive and the optical drive.

Its very odd as its been fine all day, then when I was watching something online I noticed it flashing so immediately did a diagnostic check.

The error codes for the diagnostics is as follows:

0f00 065d disk self test error

0f00 133c no suitable disk media

4400 011a SCSI_0-000_disk_generic_multi-card-target-not-ready

Also when I take the power lead out the whole computer switches off. I have noticed that its not charging the battery. The adapter is new, and is the correct one, but it keeps coming up its not recognised.

When I typed the error codes in it suggests there is something wrong with the hard drive and it assumes that you can't boot up or anything. But I am able to use the computer fine. Its just the flashing light that concerns me.

Can anyone help

Thanks

Does the system BIOS (F2 at powerup) recognize the AC adapter.

No it doesn't.

It used to charge it but all of a sudden it stopped. It says my battery is fine and working normally.

Try another Dell adapter - if it's not recognized, then the problem is with the system board.  If it is, the problem is with the adapter.
