Inspiron 17R won't start. Only the first light turns on and of when I power up without the battery and Plugged power.
Inspiron 17R won't start. Only the first light turns on and of when I power up without the battery and Plugged power.
The power light goes on for a second and the first light on the top right blinks for a second with the power light and that's it. If I hold the power button for longer, it keeps repeating the same.
Please help.

Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery, and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove the base cover and memory modules; reinstall both.
Try powering up on AC only - if it will but won't with the battery, the battery is faulty.
If it still won't power up after the foregoing, the mainboard is bad.
