Inspiron 6000 New Battery not Charging

Hi,

I ordered a new Dell Inspiron 6000 series Battery from Dell. The problem is it is not charging with my adaptor. So i tried with a different adaptor of my friend. It is charging perfectly. so i don't know what could be the problem? But i am able to work my adaptor when my adator plugs in the electric outlet. when i switch off the electic power system is shutting down immediately (i.e battery is not charged). I am frusted to work with wires (adaptor). So could ay one suggest me what could be the problem?

1) If it is a problem with adaptor, how am i able to work when it is plugged in to electric outlet?

2) If it is a problem with Battery module how come it is charging with differnt adaptor. I am totally confused and dont know what to do. I am suffering from this problem since 6 months. Tried buying different batteries. No use.

Quick help is appriciated.

The problem is with the adapter - replace it with a new one.

Chances are there is either damage to the center pin on the plug, or internal damage to the charge circuitry in the adapter.

If it is an internal damage to the circutary, how come it is charging with a different adaptor? If the problem is with Pin, will it work with A/C power on?

Precisely because another adapter WILL work, the one you have is faulty.
