Hi Jemilligan,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

I would suggest you to check if the Hard Drive is getting detected in the system BIOS. Follow the below steps to check for the same.

1. Start the computer by pressing the power button
2. Press the F2 key 2-3 times
3. You will now be on the BIOS screen

4. Under the Main Tab, Look for the Options Fixed HDD and let us know what is written next to it.

Also let us know the Operating System installed on the system.

Let us know your findings.

Hi Jemilligan,

I would advise that you start your computer into Safe Mode With Networking and check if the system is booting into the windows.

Please follow the steps mentioned below to start the computer into the safe mode with Networking:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. As the computer boots, press when the Dell Splash Screen appears.
  3. Scroll down to option ‘Safe Mode With Networking’ and Click on ‘Enter’ button.
  4. This will boot you into the Safe Mode With Networking.
  5. Check if the system is working good.

Let us know your findings.

Hi,

I tried several times to do this but the F8 key didn't do anything. After the Dell flash screen popped up, the screen just progressed to the black screen with the "operating screen not found" message. If I press a button when in that screen it will take me to a boot menu but that's all I can find.

Cheers

Hi Jemilligan,

I would suggest you to run the Dell Hardware Diagnostics on the system to confirm the functionality of the hardware components on the system.

Click on the link http://dell.to/1w7a22h and follow the steps in the video to run the test.

Once the test is completed share us the results and also private message me the Service Tag of the system to check and assist you further.

NOTE : To send a private message, click on my name and select start conversation.

Let us know your findings.
