Inspiron 8600 randomly moves cursor while typing
Anyone else had this problem?
Also, is there any actual online support with Dell or must we call? I have always had great service from Dell Tech until the last call. Even I knew more than the guy on the phone . . . it was bad, but I didn't want to insult him by asking for someone else.

A forum member, Spiked-Martini,gave me an answer in another thread I thought I'd add here, in case anyone else with this problem reads this. I'll quote him here because I think he's right:
" Appelles, your random cursor moving is probably a result of your hands activating the touchpad when you type. Many people report that they have problems keeping their hands in the correct positions, so they de-activate the touchpad instead, to avoid this problem. You may want to consider this, if the annoyance is so great that it makes you not want to purchase notebooks from Dell."
I'll be more careful and we'll see . . .

Sorry, me bad...if I looked in the correct thread the answer may be there. Take a look at this from the Keyboard/Point Devise forum-

I have had this problem also...the cursor sometimes just drifts. (not all the time) I am not even using the touchpad or anywhere near it when this happens so I don't think in my case it's me accidently moving via the touchpad,I use a external mouse.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I don't want to come off lazy but the problem isn't enough for me to want to sit through a phone tag session with support.

For me it would just move to the bottom left corner and dissappear.

As per my earlier post, try a forum search in the Keyboard/Pointing Devices forum for these kinds of issues.
