I see that dell is coming out with the inspiron 9200 soon. I also have read its going to be its first 17 inch notebook which is sweet. So does anyone know its specs, such as what type of processor it will have in it and video card? Is it going to be on the heavier end and a desktop replacement laptop or on the lighter end for mobile use? Just wondering if anyone has information on this. Thanks!
Here is the short review on PC magazine. It looks ugly, a 17" display with a regular notebook size keyboad. No details on the dispay resolution. Dell needs a wake-up call:
Hmm, does look kinda of plain. Plus, it only got 20 fps on the doom 3 test at 1024 x 768 which is kinda slow. My Xps gets around 30-35 fps at 1680 x 1050 with high setting. Of course it has 3.4 ghz P4 E.E. with radeon 9800. Well I wonder what the new Xps will look like and does anyone know when it comes out?
That keyboard looks re tarded! This laptop looks plain, poorly engineered and kinda like it was slapped together in an hour. The 8600 totally outclasses it. I think i even like the look of the XPS/9100 better.
It has some nice specs, including the 17" UXGA, 2.1GHz Pentium M, and 128MB Radeon 9700 but it doesnt look that great and has no PS/2, serial or printer ports.
I have a 5150 which does not have a Printer, Serial, or PS/2 mouse port. I dont miss the Printer or serial ports much but it really annoys me that dell saves $5 off the cost of the laptop by taking the PS/2 port off.
