Inspiron E1505 Drivers

Hey, I recently re-installed Windows XP on my Inspiron E1505, and I'm wondering what drivers I need. I entered my service tag, but there are so many drivers,I don't think I need all of them. So I eventually figured out most of them, and now I have just 2 yellow question marks named "Video Controller" and "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" in device manager. However, I don't now which drivers to install for these. Also, I'm not sure if there are any more drivers I need other than those two (But if I did, wouldn't it show more yellow question marks in device manager?), So if someone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

The drivers I have installed are:

(Broadcom-Driver) R149798 and (Dell-driver) Dell_multi-device_A17_R174291 (for network), Sigmatel-Driver (R171789) (for audio), (Intel-Driver) R114079 and (Ricoh-Driver) R141246 (for chipset), and (Dell-Utility) R120775 (for system utilities).

Hi,

Great to know that all the drivers are installed on the system. However, you may check the drivers listed below for further reference:

Mobile Intel Chipset Driver
Intel 945GM/PM or ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 / X1400 Video Driver
Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver
Broadcom 440X 100/100 Integrated Controller
Wireless Mini-Card driver (if applicable)
SigmaTel STAC 9200 Audio Driver
Bluetooth driver (if applicable)
Synaptics TouchPad Driver
QuickSet utilities

Please reply for further assistance.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

You would need to install the touchpad drivers only if the touchpad malfunctions. If the touchpad is working fine as of now, then you do not need to install any driver for the touchpad. If you would need to install the touchpad driver in future, then please go to www.support.dell.com and click “drivers & downloads”. Enter your system’s Service Tag on the driver’s home page to get the list of compatible drivers for your system. You would find the touchpad driver under “Input” tab.

Similar is the case with Bluetooth. If you wish to pair another device with your laptop via Bluetooth, then you would need to install the Bluetooth driver. Here is the link to download the driver for Bluetooth device. http://dell.to/To3Hu0

Please feel free to revert for any clarification.

Thanks & Regards

Okay, I found the video driver, it was (Intel-Driver) R153830. I also updated the BIOS. Are there any other drivers that I need? I don't see any more yellow question marks in device manager.

Hey,

Thanks, I hadn't installed the Touchpad Driver. I also haven't installed a bluetooth driver. How do I know if I need it, and if I do, then how do I know which one?
