Inspiron E1505 Monitor and Keyboard Issues

I have been trying to fix an Inspiron E1505.  The first problem was the monitor.  I bought new parts (monitor, cables, etc) Installed them..no monitor.

I swapped a known working monitor and still nothing,Works with a monitor hooked to it, so no problem.  Now the keyboard is messed up!  When I type a letter it displays something wacky.  For example when I type H, it will come up as hu.  Replaced the keyboard and its still doing the same thing.  Now what?  I have it plugged into a KVM switch and the external keyboard works fine.  What is wrong with this thing?
