Inspiron M5030 won't boot :(

I hope that someone can help me here. Over two weeks ago my laptop was working fine. I shut it down one day, and later in the evening I saw the front lights on so it must have not shut down. I moved the mouse and the screen did not come back. So I pressed the power button and shut it off. After that when I turned it on it gave me a disk error and asks to ctrl alt delete. When I do the same thing. It seems when I leave it off and let the power drain and try i the disk error goes away but it won't boot, just to the black screen. The service tag is: - I can get in the bios but I don't know what to do. I googled and read to boot in the last previous known to boot mode, but I can never get f8 to work. Only f2 and f12 and those don't seem to give me that or safe mode options.

I was using it for my work and went out and bought the lowest price laptop at bestbuy. Windows 8 is nice but does not seem as solid as the dell.

I would like to take it back but only have two days left to decide.

My dell is windows 7 and a few years old but I don't think it should be done yet.

I hope that someone here can help me fix it please.

Thank you for listening,

Ian

I got to the system repair tool, it finally asked me if I wanted to restart windows. I clicked yes, it booted, was on the windows logo for a long time, then to a black screen with just the cursor, it moved, then finally to my login window, i put in my password and now it's just to a blank blue background with the mouse cursor that moves. I'm leaving it to see if anything else happens. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ian

Now when I press the sticky keys it makes the sound, but still nothing more than a blue background and cursor

It finally loaded the background and desktop but kept lagging whenever i tried to do anything. Would a factory restore be best? If I c[an ever get to that point

May be your windows is too old and has to much trash and virus, do you often cleanup your lap and scan with anti-virus software?

I let the startup repair run for hours, when I came home it was booted and I put in my password. Loaded to desktop, very slow, hardly able to do anything. Could it be a virus, if so any guess on which one? I'm now trying to shut it down without using the power button, it says shutting down, hopefully soon. I found a youtube video on how to reset the dell windows 7 to factory from a image on the hard drive, does this model have this capability? If so, how can i maybe save some of my files before doing so? Also my computer shows c but not dvd drive or my usb drive. Please someone help. Thank you.

I tried to download a windows 7 iso to reinstall from microsofts site but when  put in my key it says The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device.  Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.

Please click here: http://dell.to/1APTYnR and try restoring the system to factory default settings.
We recommend you to back up the data, if you have any before performing pc restore.
Let us know if this helped.

The only disc I have are the recovery discs that I made when I first got the laptop. Will they work?
