Installing memory on 700m Inspiron
I will be attemping to install a 1G upgrade on a Dell Inspiron 700m computer (for my friend). I searched for install instructions on Dell but found separate instructions for upper and lower memory module. Is a RAM upgrade upper or lower? Any tips or tricks on this install? Sometimes these can be tricky. Thanks.

What that means is,one DIMM slot sits on top of the other DIMM.When you open up the memory compartment you will see just one stick of RAM,lift the cage up that it sits in and you will see the second DIMM slot underneath it.

I'm going to through the same with my XPS. Mine actually has DIMM A and DIMM B. DIMM A is actually under the keyboard and B on the underside.
Download the manual for the specific model from the DELL support website.

It does not matter which DIMM slot you put it in.

I did find the manual and it had the 2 locations listed. I will be replacing the stock memory with a 1G. So, which slot should I put it in?
