I checked out the link at Intel, but when you go to download Intell has a message saying :***** PLEASE NOTE: THIS TOOL IS OFF LINE - PLEASE CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK *****
Any other suggestions? As a side note, the laptop fans are on a lot more than usual. would this have anything to do with that also and could that be the cause of the processor errors?

Hi nfb1204,
Welcome to the community.
Please go to the device manager and uninstall the current turbo boost driver entirely.
You can download the turbo boost monitor instead to see that your PC is in fact using turbo boost without this driver.
You can download this application from this link:
www.intel.com/.../CS-031038.htm
Let me know of the findings, glad to be of assistance.
