Question

Hello,

Quite recently (11/03) I purchased a Inspiron 8600. The bill comming with it states the existance of an infrared device. But looking at the hardware inventory does not do so.

Here is my question: Is it nevertheless installed in my computer and when yes which driver do I have to use?

Look at the photos near the beginning of the manual and it will show you were the IR window is. Drivers are XP-standard, just there. What do you want to use it for?

You have to enable it in the BIOS-Setup. Press F2 when the Dell splash screen appears when powering the laptop up to get into the setup. Press Alt-P to switch between the pages. You should see the option and be able to turn it on. When starting windows, it should find you IRda device
