Is my touch screen scratched?
Hello,
I have a DELL Inspiron 15z 5523, it has been 7 months now.
I like this laptop very much because it doesn't get so hot and it is so fast except that day that let me down when it wont turn on and I managed to get it working again after RESETTING the system by using a pin to press the little button beside the RAMs.
Now how do I know if my screen is scratched?
I clean it after two days or so.
I now got a side job where I draw people's faces and bodies and they give me money in return.
I use transparent papers and put it over the screen and use a pencil very gently to clone the face.
But so far I can't see or I don't think I see any scratch caused by the pencil.
Can the pencil scratch the screen? if it does when it can scratch it?
Or it wont scratch it because I use it very gently moreover I use it over the transparent paper?
Thanks in advance.

Hi AmgedIsmail,
The touch screen on the LCD is sensitive. Dell does not recommend you to you use a pencil on it as this could accidentally damage it. If the touchscreen gets damaged then you will need to replace the entire LCD screen which would be expensive.

Hi AmgedIsmail,
Sorry for the delayed response. As the system is a touch screen on the surface its sensitive. Dell has never experimented on the screen with a pencil please do it on your own risk.

Hello,
But I am not using the pencil directly on the screen to Deliberately scratch the screen.
I put on a transparent paper over the touch screen so that I can easily see the face, then I gently use the pencil over the paper to copy the face.

Hi AmgedIsmail,
I understand your question. As informed earlier Dell has never experimented on the screen with a pencil please do it on your own risk.
