Is the Inspiron 1720 a good computer?

I got an Inspiron 1720 for Christmas, and am not sure if I want to keep it.
I have a feeling its not what I want.  I'm a multi-tasking kind of guy.  I like to search the web in 4 or 5 different pages, while doing my homework, and watching a movie, or listening to music..  I want to be able to play my games (Sim City, and The Sims 2).  Before I install of the discs for those games on to it, I wanted to make sure my computer would be able to handle it.

the specs are:
Intel Duo Core Processor T5250 @1.50GHz
3063 MB of RAM
160 GB Hard Drive.
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family with a Minimum of 8MB of Graphics Memory and a Maximum of 359MB.
Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit

any other info you may need i'll be happy to provide.

If you want to play games on it you will need a bettewr Video card and CPU. If it was purchased less than 21 days ago you should send it back and have it reordered with those upgrade.
I have a 1720 with almost everything maxed out on it and can play Crysis and everything else I have thrown at it. The 1720 is a very nice notebook when configured correctly.

Hello, I have ordered a 1720 notebok, 4GRAM, 320GB HD. It only has the integrated X3100 video card. After reading some of the posts I'm concerned that I am buying a dying out model. I am not an avid gamer but I do play the downloadable games like Mystery Case Files (Big Fish Games) and other puzzle games. These are not action games, but more like find the hidden items in the picture. I also have iTunes. I take a lot of photos as well do digital journals. Some of the posts indicate that the games and iTunes will not run properly if I have the integrated video card. I read that I could upgrade but at a significant cost and loss of my warranty. Also the 1720 is being replaced with a newer model. Please tell me if I am making a big mistake by getting this model. And if I am what modl do you recommend? I do not need the latest and greatest, but for what I am spending I need to know that it will work well.

Thank you

Reebie
