The link you provided is to a PCMCIA to PCI (laptop card to desktop) adapter, not a PCI to PCMCIA (desktop card to laptop) adapter, which is what I'm looking for.

Those exist as well.

No, that is ALSO a PCMCIA to PCI Card, not a PCI to PCMCIA card.

The http://www.softwareandstuff.com/CRD10132.html link is a PCI card that you can plug PCMCIA cards into.  I'm looking for a PCMCIA card that runs to a slot that you can plug a PCI card into (i.e. a product with a PCI slot, not a PCI insert like the one you referred to).

The slot would look like the empty slots in the motherboard of a desktop and the interface that goes into the laptop would look like a PCMCIA card (~ 2' x 5' rectangle a little thicker than a credit card).

I've never actually seen one so don't know if they even exist, but I need one so hope they do.

I've never seen such a device. I can't imagine there would be much demand for such an adapter. It would be rather difficult to make - physically. To the best of my knowledge the PCI-capable docking station is the only option.
