Issue with Inspiron 5010 - error code 0F00:063E

Hi there,

at the start up of the system, when windows is staring and all the start up programs start I got a message which says that the hard drive fail and that I should back the data.

I have done the back up the data and I would like now to fix this problem. My warranty is not working so calling Dell support is useless.

I run the 32 bit diagnostic tool from the CD furnished with the laptop.

I got 3 error code related to the hard drive:

error code 0F00:063E  Msg: DISK - HDD error, backup data immediately

error code 0F00:133E  Msg: DISK - HDD error, backup data immediately

error code 0F00:123E  Msg: DISK - HDD error, backup data immediately

when I run the PSA diagnostic tool I got the error code 0146. on the website the solution is to take out the disc and put it back.

I haven't done that yet as I am looking to see if there is other solution and I haven't had time yet to do so.

Thanks for any help

Hey Pipi - Did you manage to sort this problem out - I just got the same.

Did you get a new HD?

Hi Phil,

Yeah, the problem was the HardDrive, I manage to get it change by Dell for free so pretty cool about it.

I had difficulty to get them on the phone and explain but as soon as they sent someone at home and change my harddirve it went pretty fast and for free.

Cheers,

Pipi
