Keyboard and Touchpad not working at the same time

Question

Hello, I've encountered the following problem: When I hit any key on my keyboard, it blocks the touchpad completly. Eg pressing 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' and moving the mouse results in the letters appearing but the cursor remains on the same spot.This is terrible for playing games which require you to use both keyboard and touchpad at the same time to move around and / or use skills. So if anyone could kindly provide me with a solution to fix this, I would be super grateful. Here is what I've tried so far: - disable palm tracking- disable tap to click- went through various settings regarding keyboard and mouse- installed the latest drivers Here are screenshots of the option / settings I have available: [spoiler] [/spoiler] I'm using Windows 8 and it is an Inspiron SE. Seeing as the laptop is fairly new I'm worried it might be a defect? (And none of the options brought any changes.) Thank you for reading all of this and have a nice day.

I finally found a solution to my problem: I had to install Synaptics. After rebooting I am now able to use my touchpad and keyboard at the same time. Yay!
