try to run a diagonistics on the Keyboard and from all that you have mentioned, I suspect that the Keyboard could be at fault. so please call Dell and get the keyboard replaced
I have ran the diagnostics on my system and I got a "Stuck Key Detected" error and and "Interactive Test" error.
I have been onto Dell and they are to send me another keyboard to replace my faulty one.
However the keyboard seems ok at the moment, the enter key is working (for the meantime), it seems like I have an intermittant keyboard problem.
The Dell diagnostics are good, its the first time I have used them, however there is a need to press enter while it is booting and if your enter key is not working, what do you do?? I got it to work by mashing the keyboard, this got me an enter. (I later found out that by pressing the ; key quickly followed by the # key, this also gave me an enter??)
To Run 32 bit Dell diagnostics on the Keyboard.
Restart the system and tap F12 at the Dell logo screen. Highlight the diagnostics option and press enter. Select the device as keyboard and run the test.
