I bought a Dell inspiron 17 7000 7737 series laptop with the same color as you have and I agree a black backlit keyboard would of been better than this color .I do not know what they were thinking of when they made this selection.You really have to be careful when you use it in the daytime.
I also bought a dell 7746 7000 series laptop recently and I am very unhappy about the white on silver keyboard,it is near enough impossible to use it with daylight. My last Inspiron laptop had a white letters on black keys backlit keyboard ,which was no problem at all. The only thing I can think of is to ask Dell if they can change the keyboard, which I am going to do or get a black felt tip and go over the keys but I expect that will invalidate the warranty.
Do you have any trouble with the left click on the touchpad? it doesn't work a lot of the time also my touchpad is soooo sensitive it is ridiculous.? any ideas yourself?
I checked the part numbers available to tech support to swap out keyboards on the 7746. There is only one English model available and it is the silver keyboard. There currently are no options for this system for a darker keyboard.

This machine has a mind it's own, constantly bringing up screens to programs I NEVER clicked on!!! Right now as I'm typing this the arrow jumps to another place and inserts the letters/words in other sentences.
Any one with suggestions as to how to use this computer? I don't even even know how to describe the problem I'm having..... Ugh !!
