Latitude D620 will not find wireless network with Linux loaded.
The existing onboard chip does not seem to work with Linux wireless.
I was told that the intel pro wireless network adapter would allow the 620 to work with Linus wireless.
Has anyone added one of these and are they talking about a pcmcia card or a chip you insert internally in the laptop?
I really want to practice with Linux but want my wireless network to work with it!
Thanks

I have a D620 running Ubuntu 11.10 with the Broadcom chip. It works with wireless just fine.
I suggest you pay a visit to http://www.ubuntuforums.org and read the sticky in the networking & wireless forum.
You can replace your current wifi mini-card with an Intel one if you want.

Is the broadcom chip on the D620 already? If I download a copy of the ubuntu 11.10 will my laptop work without adding any cards?

It is on mine.
It most likely will not work without some actions on your part.
