Latitude D820 Memory Upgrade Questions
I am considering to upgrade my Latitude D820's memory and have a few questions:
- Does the machine use the full memory speed if I use 800 MHz modules, or are they throttled to a clock frequency of 667 MHz?
- Can I place 2 2GB memory modules in the DIMM A slot while removing the pre-installed 1GB module from DIMM B?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your answer. Ok it makes sense that one socket only allows one module. :) I thought there are two sockets per "slot"...

The maximum memory speed is 667 MHz regardless of the CPU - the chipset in this system doesn't support RAM at 800 MHz.
No, you cannot place two modules in one socket. It's max 2G/module, one module per socket.
